MISSION STATEMENT: To Preserve and Promote
South Australia's Military Heritage.

OUR HERITAGE
- To recognize, value and preserve the contributions of members of the
Army with emphasis on pre and post federation South Australia in both
war and peace.
INTEGRITY
- To be professional in our approach in presenting our heritage and adhere
to our Code of Ethics.
TEAMWORK
- To work co-operatively together to preserve Army's heritage.
OUR
VISION: To be
the premier Army Museum in South Australia.
In order to do this
we will:
- Provide members
of the armed services and the public with an informative, historically
correct and entertaining presentation of Australia's and, in particular,
South Australia's military history.
- Establish and provide
a comprehensive regional research and resource centre containing materials
with an emphasis on Australian and South Australian military history.
- Document South
Australia's military history.
- Receive and maintain
military artifacts.
- Train staff in
conservation, restoration, preservation and display technique to enhance
our Collection.
- Train guides to
enhance our professionalism.
- Educate the public
by fostering an awareness and understanding of the Army's heritage and
traditions.
- Acquire, conserve,
preserve, restore, document, display, store and dispose of our army
heritage items.
- Work in conjunction
with other related Collections/Museums.
CORPORATE
GOALS:
Our
corporate goals are grouped under the following four categories, namely:
Management. Operations. Marketing. Human Resources. The Plan is now in
its third year of operation. The Objectives have been reworded to reflect
the on-going development of the Plan since the last Annual Report. A working
party appointed by the Board has prepared a draft submission of the Strategic
Plan for the period 2007-2009.
