Bray convenes meeting to discuss establishment of 4 MD Museum.
- 10 FEB 92 Army
History Committee authorizes 4 MD Museum. Museum to occupy building
136 at Keswick.
- 30 FEB 92 Name
change to Army Museum of SA Inc. officially opened by Dr Erica Roberts.
- 1995 Museum committee,
in conjunction with other services, produced an exhibition at Torrens
Training Depot as part of the "Australia Remembers" celebrations.
- 17 NOV 95 'Project
Army Heritage Plan' released by DGGS.
- 1997 AHU assumed
responsibility for all Army Museums.
- 23 NOV 95 Defence
Services Museum opened by the Premier, the Hon Mr Dean Brown MP. This
Museum, established by DVA as part of the Australia Remembers celebrations,
was located in the Police Museum on North terrace and included a display
by AMOSA as an annex to our Museum.
- 31 JAN 97 Defence
Services Museum closes AMOSA successfully applied to use this site in
conjunction with Keswick site.
- 27 APR 97 Minister
for Defence, the Hon Mr Ian McLachlan MP , officially opened our new
building (RofA 76) as the main display area for the Museum.
- 1 DEC 97 GRES member
appointed as manager.
- NOV 98 10/27 Collection
moved to Keswick Barracks.
- 19 JUL 98 Exercise
"Rekindled Spirit" conducted. This was a general planning meeting/presentation
for all Museum volunteers to look at future directions for the Museum
JAN 99 3/9 Collection moved to Keswick Barracks.
- 2002 Draft guides
policy formulated.
- 16/17 FEB 02 Guides/Volunteers
training course conducted.
- 3 JUN 02 AMOSA
registered as a company limited by guarantee under Commonwealth Corporation
Act 2001.
- 30 JUN 03 AMOSA
Inc ceases to operate as the volunteer organization operating the Museum.
- 1 JUL 04 Army Museum
of South Australia Foundation officially takes over management of the
Volunteer company. The Tobruk and Kokoda displays were opened by Ms
Dana Vale (DVA).
- 2005 Visit by State
Governor. Visit by Turkish delegation Strategic Plan developed.
